Similar to the role of the SAG, Technical Reference Group members work closely with ISSB technical staff and participate in technical discussions for the purposes of standard setting. The ISSB established the Technical Reference Group – a diverse group of subject matter experts who bring key expertise on current market practice, reporting and subject matter capability to the ISSB. The Value Reporting Foundation consolidated into the IFRS Foundation to help establish the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) in August 2022. The Standards Advisory Group (SAG) was a standing committee of volunteer industry experts from corporations, financial institutions, and third parties that provided feedback on the implementation and use of the SASB Standards, as well as emerging sustainability issues that were considered as part of the standard-setting process.
